a working group with journal editors

While QTD is a discussion that aims to be broader than the discussion around DART and JETS, I think it is still important that part of the discussion engages DART and JETS because people are coming to these boards in part motivated by these changes and thanks to the protest movement that highlighted...

Re: AJPS badges

Hi Markus, I find your idea very interesting: a variety of badges and incentives to promote commonly agreed community enhancing behavior. But the discussion about top down incentive structure and choice architectures is always tricky. There is a growing debate around these gamification approaches an...

Re: Preregistration (or lack thereof)

I am also really curious about the lack of pre-registration requirement or at least encouragement in dart. Pre-registration is one of the most concrete steps to fight against publication bias in experimental research. I think this might be another victim of the two sizes fit all approach of the disc...

Re: [From Steering Comm.] Inviting input on specific transparency practices

In my research I primarily use RCTs and time series to study impact of governance innovations and the first time I read about the Dart debate it took me a bit to get out of my mindset and understand the nuances that my colleagues that use other methodologies were highlighting. But now, after rewirin...

Re: Just back from fieldwork

I think it would be very interesting to invite some of those journal editors that have subscribed JETS to explain us how they are applying it in a way that is more concrete than the statements they have posted. I think QTD is extremely important and should not be limited nor framed by JETS, as Tim e...

summary post & emerging trends

Hi all, I am trying to follow all the threads, but already the content is becoming a bit overwhelming for me. So in this post I'll try to join the emerging trends I spotted insofar. I am not going to catch everything, I might miss quotes and I might have missed one or more approach or miss-categoriz...

Re: Are qualitative researchers held to a higher standard?

Gary I completely agree with your post. And I want to try to build upon it. I think that in the attempt to solve the problems of statistical observational research we might generate the same problems for qualitative research. I do not know what the audience is so I have written a modular post: -> fo...

[off topic] Introductions!

Hi all, I propose a thread in which we can introduce ourselves and maybe add why we got involved in this and our top 3 problems with Da-rt. The latter should be a quick simple preview, we can discuss things in details in specific threads. This is more of a survey of the general sentiment of the comm...

Re: Complications

What would be a better procedure in your opinion? Also I think this would be better moved in the deliberation section of the forum where we are supposed to discuss the optimal way to discuss things
